How Apulian wine is produced: from the vineyard to the winery

Our experience will take you inside an ancient winery located in the heart of Locorotondo. Here you will learn about the history of one of the oldest and most prestigious family-run wineries in Puglia, now in its third generation.
You will also find out about the various steps of the fascinating wine production cycle: from the vineyard to the wine cellar, the place where rural experience and technological knowledge merge. This alchemic blend gives life to fine wine qualities, produced with both native and international grape varieties: Primitivo, Fiano, Negroamaro, Verdeca, Susumaniello, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
A tasting of some of the winery’s wines, accompanied by a tasty aperitif of typical Apulian products rounds off the visit.

In the lush green heart of the Valle D’Itria

The winery is located in the centre of Locorotondo and has seven hectares of vineyards spreaded in the whole Valle D’Itria area. This is an area that, with its ideal microclimate, has made it possible to cultivate not only indigenous vines but also international varieties such as Pinot Noir, Cabernet and Merlot.
The Valle is characterised by an average annual temperature of around 15°C.
In the hottest period, which is during the summer, the maximum temperatures reached during the day are followed by a drop in temperature at night, thus creating an ideal temperature range for quality wine growing.
Locorotondo is one of the most beautiful villages in Puglia. Its typical two- or three-storey dwellings with double-pitched roofs covered with limestone slabs (known as cummerse) give the town a very distinctive appearance.
Walking through the alleys of the old town of Locorotondo gives the feeling of living in a fairy tale.
