An afternoon spent fishing on a rowing boat

We will star the experience in a small fishing village in Polignano a Mare where you can immerse yourself in the magical world of seafaring traditions with many fishing boats, a green area with spontaneous herbs typical of our region and an unusual bookshop located on a suggestive cliff overlooking the sea, built with the recovery of an old “gozzo”.
In this place a native fisherman with his “polporella” boat will be waiting to start a unique experience looking for octopuses.
The traditional local boats, called gozzo, are made with low bottoms especially for this shallow work. Using proper fishing tools, with a big fortune you can catch an octopus and then “curl it up”. This is a very old technique that involves banging the octopus forcefully and repeatedly against a hard surface, traditionally a rock. This allows the flesh of the octopus to become tender and therefore edible.
The octopus in traditional Apulian cuisine is used for a dish of crudo, or cooked in a simple way in a pignata, a slow braised dish with cherry tomatoes, onions, garlic and lots of fresh herbs, a tasty and very typical receipt.
On board you can taste a little Apulian aperitif and fresh drinks.
