The winery is located in the part of the region known as Alto Salento, a great area famous for its food and wine tradition and natural beauty. It represents a heritage of wine knowledge gathered during 5 generations and now translated in the production of high quality wines.
Its ancient history dates back to the beginning of 1900s in the “palamientu”, the very first example of organised wine cellar. Here, thanks to a complex system of large tanks connected to each other and arranged on several levels, everything was handmade, from the pressing of the grapes, which was done with the feet, to the fermentation of the must up to the tapping.
The barrels, together with those belonging to the other farmhouses in the area, where then brought on carts, the “travini”, to the train station in Manduria. This was the starting point for the wine, whose destination was the North of Italy. The name “Red Wine from Manduria” derives from this particular circumstance.

Guided tour of the winery and, during the tour inside the underground barrique cellar, tasting of one Primitivo drawned directly from the barrique. At the end of the guided visit, tasting of our Primitivo di Manduria DOP accompanied by our Extra Virgin Olive Oil upon homemade “friselle”.

• Gems of Manduria: welcome aperitif with our sparkling wine classic method of Bianco d’Alessano and Fiano accompanied by homemade “friselline” with fresh cherry tomatoes and our Extra Virgin Olive Oil.
  Guided tour of the winery and, during the tour inside the underground barrique cellar, tasting of one Primitivo drawned directly from the barrique. The same type of wine will then be tasted bottled (our Primitivo di Manduria DOP Riserva), to compare an aging wine with the finished product, all accompanied by a tasting of local Pecorino cheese.
  At the end of the guided tour, tasting of our Primitivo di Manduria DOCG Dolce Naturale accompanied by “pezzi duri”, typical pastries from Puglia rich in almonds.

Guided tour of the winery and, during the tour inside the underground barrique cellar, tasting of one Primitivo drawned directly from the barrique. The same type of wine will then be tasted bottled (our Primitivo di Manduria DOP Riserva), to compare an aging wine with the finished product, all accompanied by a tasting of local Pecorino cheese.

Sun-kissed vineyards in Salento

The wines of the winery are the result of the perfect environmental conditions of this area, thanks to which intervention of men is strongly reduced. The sun, the warm and dry climate and the soil characteristics do most of the work!
Three are the wine varieties used for the production: two of them, extend for over 12 hectares, are very ancient and produce a very limited but high quality quantity of grapes. The third one is a young wine variety which extends over 6 hectares, from which the Primitivo and other local types of wine from Salento, such as Negramaro, Fiano and Bianco d’Alessano, are produced.
