Riding on magnificent horses specifically trained for this type of activity, and guided by expert instructors, you will venture into the heart of the Apulian countryside.
The itinerary winds among traffic-free rural paths, olive groves, sowing fields, wooded areas and gentle green hills.
Along the way, you will discover the most authentic Apulian rural soul, with its small “contrade” (small settlements located in the middle of the countryside), ancient trulli and dry-stone walls.
Depending on the time of year, the colors of nature will reveal their magnificence, enhanced by strong contrasts. You can admire the green of the fields and the distinctive foliage during autumn and winter, the explosion of flower colours and Mediterranean scrub during spring and summer.
The horseback ride consists in a wide loop that will move you throughout its duration: you will go from the green of the olive trees to the blue of the sea visible over the horizon.
During the last part of the itinerary, you will ride along a hilly ridge overlooking one of the most beautiful views in Puglia: the Piana degli ulivi millenari (Plain of Millennial Olive Trees). You can admire the stretches of olive trees at your feet with their characteristic evergreen colour and beyond, the blue Adriatic Sea.

The tour

Guests will meet at the farm hosting the experience located in the countryside between Locorotondo and Cisternino. Here, you will be welcomed by dedicated staff who will provide you with a horse and hold a briefing during which you will be given basic instructions on how to ride the horse safely.
Then, you will leave the stables with the instructor leading the group on his horse and another coordinator closing the group.
The ride proceeds along short paved paths, rural dirt tracks and dirt roads.
It is a loop route that crosses different rural settings and returns to the same starting point after about 90 minutes.
