From sea to table: discover Apulian seafood recipes with

Join our cookery lesson to discover the best Apulian seafood recipes. We will buy fresh fish together at a fish market in the beautiful Apulian town of Polignano a Mare. Soon after, we will move to an ancient farmhouse where an expert local cook will show you how to make fresh pasta and prepare the seafood you bought.
The making class will end with a tasting of what you have prepared during the lesson, served with excellent Apulian wine.

Where is the cooking class hosted?

We will meet in Polignano, one of the most famous villages in Puglia known for its incomparable beauty. Its old town was built on a rocky spur overlooking the Adriatic Sea. Strolling through its narrow alleyways you can breathe in the most authentic Apulian soul and enjoy breathtaking panoramic views of the sea.
Together we will go to a fishmonger’s to buy fresh fish. Local fishermen go fishing at night until dawn. After their catch, they take their products straight to local fishmongers or fish markets.
You will be fascinated by the quality and the many types of fish at the fishmongers’ counters!
Then we will move in an ancient farmhouse located a few kilometres away from Polignano.
The Apulian farmhouses are the most iconic symbols of Apulian rural culture. We have therefore chosen this location to give you an authentic experience, in close contact with the local people.

Some of the dishes which will be prepared

During the cooking lesson, an expert cook will teach you the recipe to make Apulian fresh pasta, which will be served with fresh fish previously bought in Polignano.
You will find below a selection of some of the dishes you will make:

  • octopus salad;
  • handmade pasta (Cavatelli or Capunti) with mussels and crunchy pork cheek;
  • handmade pasta (Cavatelli or Capunti) with mussels and cherry tomatoes.

A side dish and a dessert will complete the menu.
The Apulian wines selected to be served with the dishes are:

  • sparkling rosè wine, from Negroamaro grapes;
  • white wine, from Verdeca grapes.

We truly enjoyed our cooking class! Marco was very helpful coordinating and Domenico led an amazing class. He was able to accommodate one of our member’s gluten allergy well. The Villa Rosa was a beautiful, unique setting for a cooking class. All the food was delicious and I would highly recommend to anyone else visiting Puglia.
